Kitchen & Dining:
On the main (ground) floor, the bright, sunny, fully-equipped, designer kitchen has French white cabinets, ample storage space and sleek, white granite countertops veined with faint shimmering black mica. The kitchen backsplash is crafted from rustic, reclaimed barnwood.
Stainless steel appliances include an electric glass-top range, an oven, microwave, dishwasher, large, double-basin farmhouse-style sink, and French door fridge/freezer, ice maker is currently not connected.

Sliding glass doors from the kitchen open out to the huge deck. The kitchen opens out to the dining room; preparing and serving meals either alfresco or in the dining room is easy and streamlined! A chef is never isolated from the group.
The dining room makes an elegant, modern-rustic statement with a large, heavy, natural-edge, hand-hewn farmhouse-style table that seats seven. A wrought iron wagon-wheel style chandelier adds atmosphere and mountain charm. Gather here with friends and loved ones for home-cooked meals!
A small breakfast bar in the kitchen offers stool seating for two, between a window with forest views, and the sliding glass door with direct access to the deck. Sip your morning coffee here as you watch the birds and wildlife.
At the back of the dining room is a coffee bar with a drip coffee maker, K-cup, an assortment of teas, mugs and accoutrements. There are two bar stools beside the coffee bar.

The main (ground) floor deck has a grill, where you can prepare burgers, steaks, venison, mountain trout, or veggie shish-kabobs. At dusk, gather round the firepit to roast marshmallows and tell ghost stories.

Unwind in the steaming-hot spa, watch the moon rise, count comets and shooting stars. You’ll be delighted by the plush, comfy bathrobes and spa towels that we provide for both the hot tub and the 6-person infrared sauna.

A word of caution about our driveway. Hidden Forest Cabin is located after a long one-way graveled driveway. 4WD is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this driveway, especially in wet, muddy, snowy, icy or other inclement weather. NATURE and PRISTINE SECLUSION are highlights of our property. Thus, we WILL NOT refund any stays for 2wd vehicles that encounter access issues on the driveway. Please plan your trip accordingly.
Also, cell phone signal in the mountains can be spotty. Please print/save/map and plan your directions in advance. Mountain roads can be dark, windy and confusing, especially at night. Anticipate that you may not have cell phone signal in areas around this property. Print the directions, and plan your arrival time and departure accordingly. Purchase trip insurance to avoid any disappointments.
Last but not least, Hidden Mountain Cabin is on well water. The water is healthy, pure and so rich in minerals. However, there is natural sulfur in the land here. The sulfur has a distinctive smell that some folks find distasteful. This is just a natural element and not cause for alarm. We have a water softener system that should prevent it, but after a rain, guests may smell a bit of the sulfur. We can provide some bottled water upon request; or feel free to bring in your own bottled water.
If you’re looking for a secluded vacation spot, this is it! 4WD is a must!! Penny & Ushey both promptly responded to assisting us with the keypad/lockbox for entry/other questions we had before and during our trip. Very much enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and fire pit. Surely given its remote, outdoor location on top of the mountain, expect some spiders & would recommend vacationers bring their own fresh water for drinking and pets. Your Airbnb location is so very close to and convenient to most everything in the area. We were able to enjoy Dollywood, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park all just a short ride away from the property. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any wildlife during our stay at the cabin. We were hoping for black bear!! Most definitely, would consider coming back to visit again. Thank you, Penny & Ushey, for an amazing vacation away from our home in Pittsburgh, PA at the Great Smoky Mountains.
“This place is super private, cannot imagine better location for someone who wants to get away from city noise. The house is very cozy, hot tub and sauna are awesome. The grill and decks could use some cleaning but itu2019s a minor issue. Also under wet conditions AWD is a must. Thanks for hosting us again, it was really great!”
